sits on the edge of open fields at the very edge of the small market town of
Pickering.

and do in the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors. Glancing through the
visitors book kept in the cottage will assure you that there are many and
varied things to do for all ages and that guests have had wonderful time out
and about. It also reflects the enjoyment that guests have experienced
whilst staying in the cottage itself. So

is the ideal place to be. 
The cottage is an eighteenth century grade two listed building right on the edge of town. It is full of beams, nooks, fireplaces, antique furniture, romantic charm and intriguing collections. It is part of the historic Vivers Mill conservation area.
You can see fields out of the pretty cottage windows and there are footpaths heading out into the country just outside the gate. Going the other way it’s
a five-minute walk along the footpath by the stream into the pretty market
town of Picke ring,
gateway to the North York Moors, for fantastic walking and cycling, and
the beginning of the North Yorkshire steam railway. The area is full of
fun things to enjoy and places to go. Just browse through our information

Scarborough, Whitby and the delightful Robin Hood's Bay, on the east coast are about twenty miles away. The beautiful city of York, for a spot of culture and a helping of history is just thirty miles away.
The cottage itself is delightful. You can just see the front door on the right of the picture nestling under the roses and honeysuckle.

The
cottage is centrally heated and artistically decorated throughout.
Upstairs there is a very pretty double bedroom and a twin room (plus
a z-bed) and a luxurious bathroom with shower. Downstairs is a dining room
and fully equipped kitchen with
dishwasher; a downstairs washroom/toilet and a utility area with washing
machine and dryer. There is a huge sitting
room with plenty of soft seating and a log burning stove for maximum
evening cosiness, TV, DVD and video plus a comfy double sofa bed.
French doors open out from the sitting room onto the terrace and a gravelled driveway big enough for two cars. This area is completely enclosed and safe.
Pillows, blankets and lots of duvets are there. There is a telephone (for incoming calls), wooden garden furniture, , high chair, jigsaws, games, toys, books and laminated OS maps.
We ask you to bring your own sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels and tea towels.
