PARTY OPTIONS
Glass Painting
Use glass paint to make a picture on a ceramic tile, dribble paint onto a
tumbler and use outliner stickers and fine brushes to decorate a tealight
holder. A particularly good choice for young children as it's quite a
short party and there are lots of small separate activities to keep them
focussed.
Fantastic Plastic
An amazing new product which you blast with a heat tool and make into
necklaces, earrings, badges and fridge magnets etc The finished product
looks a bit like dichroic glass but is much lighter. Boys love this one too.
Suitable for over 7s
Papermaking
Use my unique kits and recycled rubbish to create your own beautiful
handmade paper. Add flowers glitter, sequins etc for fantastic results. Take
your paper home to use for collage, card making, invites or just posh
letters! (You will need to return the drying sheets to me after this party
when your paper has dried.)
Silk Papermaking
Learn how to make unusual and exquisite paper out of pure silk. Add lace
leaves, sequins and collage materials to make a great masterpiece which you
can frame for your wall. Suitable for over 8s as it is quite messy with lots
of cellulose glue and fine silk strands, but the results are amazing!
Silk painting
Working with woven silk stretched over an A5 frame, create an outline
picture with permanent gold pen, then fill in the spaces with special silk
dyes. Mix colours to merge amazing patterns and add sea salt for a surprise
texture. Very satisfying, all the adults will want a go too!
Indian Torans
These are welcome banners traditionally hung over doorways. We use calico
cotton as the basis for our banners and print onto them using wooden Indian
printing blocks and special dyes. We use felt to make a central image, then we embellish the design using
accent beads, mirrors, sequins, tassels, glitter glue and acrylic gemstones. Finally
attach to strings to hang.
Memory Books Decorate an A5 hardback notebook with silk paper and beautiful collage materials to make a lovely keepsake for your thoughts,
photos or mementos. Add tassels to the ring binding with a selection of
exquisite ribbons.
Mirrors
Decorate your own mirror with acrylic paints, stencils and stamps. Use
relief creams, glitter glue and varnish to finish off your masterpiece to
hang on your wall to frame your face! A new choice on my arty party
list so give it a go.
Clocks
Work on a square of mdf with paint to design your very own clock. Stick on
cut-outs to embellish, add the numbers, then fix your clock mechanism, pop
in a battery and away you go. This is a new choice for an arty party so why
not be the first to do it.
Papier-mâché animals
You are given a small 3D animal made
of papier-mâché and some vibrant strong but fine tissue paper to
decorate your animal. Choose from a selection of giraffes, dinosaurs,
dolphins, horses, elephants, cow and cats. If you plan your party in good
time I can get just the right animals for your group. You'll love these
colourful little creations.
Safari Canvas
Make your own piece of African art on canvas, ready to hang on your wall..
Lots of help given to guide you to an impressive masterpiece.
Self portraits
I I will need to meet you all in advance to have your photo taken. At the
party I will show you how to transfer your face in pencil onto canvas. Then
will show you
how to create a masterpiece in impressionist style painting of your own
face using acrylic paint. Fantastic! Over nines tend to
get particularly good results with this one. Younger children can have a go
but you may need a bit of imagination to recognise them from their finished
painting.
Mosaic Working on approximately 8" square trivet, use glass mosaic tiles to create
your own design. Over 8s can use nippers to cut the glass and make more
intricate designs. Under 8s are better using whole squares. You will be
shown how to mix up your own cement and how to grout. The mosaic must dry
thoroughly before grouting so we can't do this during the session. You will
be given a bag of sand/cement to take home to grout your work the next day.
